Brush advice

  • Does Brushcom material fit in my current shaft?

We specialize in providing custom work. That is why our material almost always fits into any existing shaft.

Each brand of car wash system has its own fitting. Because we have a large database with dimensions, we are able to link every shaft to every brand of machine. We can supply both the flanges as the shafts.

Many American machine manufacturers use a solid inner shaft. We can provide these shafts with a clamp and / or slide fit to be able to use a C-core system. We are eager to provide a suitable solution for every situation.

The wear pattern is different for each material. Most materials will fray, tear, or thin at the ends over time. If this happens, the washing quality will decrease and it is wise to replace the brush. In addition to compromising the washing quality, there is also a greater chance of damage to vehicles. On this website you can download an information sheet for each material that describes more about the wear pattern and how to best maintain the brush.

    Information sheets:

The lifespan of a brush is determined by how the machine is adjusted and maintained, brush maintenance, number of washes, chemicals, water adjustment and environmental conditions.

  • Can I replace the standard brushes supplied with my car wash?

Sure! Often people wait to replace these brushes until they are worn.

However, there are also customers who replace their brushes as soon as the system is installed because they prefer to wash with our material.

We make standard brushes and custom brushes for (at least) the following brands:

Dico, Christ, Coleman Hanna, MacNeil, Sonny's, Schleicher, WashTec, Ceccato, Belanger, Motor City Wash Works, Econocraft, AVW, Holz, Peco, Istobal, Aquarama, Dibo, Baptista.

  • Which brushes are suitable for electrically powered car wash systems?

For electrically powered car wash systems and gantry systems, it is important that the weight of the brush remains as constant as possible.

Because water causes weight changes, it is important to look carefully at which materials you use for the wash brushes. We therefore advise you to choose materials that absorb little or no water and dirt, or to combine different materials. CCT-Foam is  a good example of material that does not absorb any water or dirt. Blow dryers ensure that a large part of the water is removed from the car. The drying brushes take care of the residual drops. Because the car is clean and almost dry, there is almost no weight gain in the drying brushes. This means that all our drying material is suitable for use in electrically powered tunnel car washes.

  • How do I remove residual drops in the post-drying phase?

Often car washes use blow dryers to blow water off the car. However, in most cases it is not possible to send a car dry on the road again using only blowers.

By placing drying brushes at the end of the car wash, you remove the last drops of water from the car. The customer now has a clean and dry car, without stains of residual drops on his car.

Our MicroDry material has been specially developed to absorb residual droplets, after absorbing the water the white (viscose) fibers release the water back into the environment.

DryPolish is developed to dry cars and has a polishing effect. This makes it also suitable as a polish textile.

Both materials can be used as side brush, top brush or mitter. Would you like advice on the best options for your car wash? Contact us!

  • Which material is recommended for industrial washing systems? (trucks, trains, buses, etc.)

Trains, buses and trucks are often very dirty, so it is important that the dirt is washed off. It is also often important that the material is easy to clean and does not absorb water and dirt.

That is why we recommend using foam or PX for truck wash installations. These materials do not absorb water or dirt and have great washing power.

If there is a sticker on the vehicle to be washed, we recommend foam, so the sticker stays on the car and is not washed of.

Abrasive brush material is often used in train washing installations.
